Pathnames would use the backslash only. The backslash meant &quot;directory&quot;, basically. So the &quot;proper&quot; syntax would be:

C:\DOS
C:\DOS\RUN
RUN \DOS\RUN

Note the space after the RUN on the third line. It&#039;s implied that the first RUN is an executable, not part of the directory structure. RUN is not a native DOS command, but many of us built batch files (scripts) and it would not be surprising to find run.bat among them.</description>
